From the mouths of Babes.

Sunday, March 29 would have been Dad's 59th birthday. The morning started with a lovely memorial in the Post Standard. My Dad's memories are so close to the surface sometimes it is hard to believe it has been 21 months. I see his smile and hear his laugh as if we just hung up the phone. The truth is the closer I draw to God the closer dad seems. In John this morning I read Jesus saying, "I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn't fragile like the peace this world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid."(14:27) I accept Jesus' gift and embrace His peace which frees me to remember and love without fear or despair. Further in John I read Jesus saying, "I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world."(16:33)

Sunday, March 29 while we were remembering our dad Gabriel and Natalie were busy praising our King. So many times I read over and over, (Matt 19:14)(Mark 10:14)(Luke 18:16) Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". Our children are the future and it is our job to train them and teach them God's scripture so they can hide them in their own hearts.
Parents need to be proactive even with children of young ages, in Proverbs 20:11 we are taught: Even a child is known by his actions by whether his conduct is pure and right. Our children do understand and they can praise and worship with more innocence than we know.

We all have our moments our children's faith shines. I was fortunate to be able to share my daughters' moments with many loved ones and working in Awana I feel truly blessed to be part of those moments with my Sparks. Here is my nephew's pastor acknowledging the blessing of 'our' children hiding the word in his heart.

Psalms 8:2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise.
