We all want to think that we are loving people and that we love unconditionally. Truth is we fall short in so many ways. I have struggled with the ways I have failed to love those who are not our four children, those who are not my siblings, our parents or our friends. I have struggled with the way the word unconditional has been thrown around. Reading A Love Worth Given has settled my heart with these issues. Only God loves unconditionally and only through Him can we love at love at all.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Max challenges us to put our name is place of love.
"Mari is patient, Mari is kind. Mari does not envy, she does not boast, she is not proud...."
No - those words are a lie. No one can meet that standard but - Jesus.
"Jesus is patient, Jesus is kind. Jesus does not envy, he is does not boast, he is not proud. He is not rude, he is not self-seeking, he is not easily angered, he keeps no record of wrongs. Jesus does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. He always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Jesus does not fail."
Max taught me to not focus on a love I can not produce or even focus on a love no one can ever give me.
Instead, I can be a reminded of God's love.

Love it!
I loved the part of Only God Produces fruit, you do not see an apple grunt and struggle to grow, no it is the vine that produces the fruit and give all the nutrition. We need only to stay connected to the vine and God produces the fruit ? What a relief….
Love you
