Some things don't change.

I have seen either Kristina or Kathleen at least every other weekend either on campus or here at home. I have told friends and family how grown up they seem. They left in August as two giddy high school girls and now they seem as adults. Not quite my equal, but far from "children". I have enjoyed being with two grown daughters these past two 1/2 months. Well...that was until this past weekend. Kristina came home for a vocal competition and Kathleen figured she was coming home too. This is the first time in two 1/2 months they have been together at home. Friday night they were both cuddled in the same chair and they looked no older than 14. I loved when Kathleen looked at me from the chair and said, "Mom, I wish you fit in here too." It was a nice surprise to see some things don't change.

Jeff and I joke how when each of them come home and go to church or to a high school function they are 'celebrities'. Recently, I started to notice the celebrity status they give me when I visit them on campus or they come home. It is a great feeling to have your kids as proud of you as you are of them. I am thankful God gave a promise to those who honored their father and mother. He never said life would be perfect, but he did promise it would go well. How sweet it is to watch them reap the benefits of their good choices. I am so excited to see where they let God lead them next.
