Fall 2009

Fall brings on many changes, it is my favorite season. The cool brisk air is cleansing to our health and our spirits. It is the beginning of big family dinners and warm comfort food. Falls brings excitement for the upcoming holidays and the celebration of the new year. It gently refreshes our tired bodies from the wear and tear of the summer months.

My daughters are in college cautiously filling their schedules so they graduate with a Bachelors in 2012 without overloading on classes. My mom is anticipating her visit with Mike in a couple weeks. My siblings and I are eagerly looking forward to Mom's 60th birthday and Ed's 40th birthday. Sam is experiencing a new life with a beautifully straight spine and an unexpected level of confidence. Looking at these changes I notice they are nothing more than blessed opportunities that our family is taking advantage of.

Not to be left out, I have been drawn to what I hope are amazing opportunities. I am seeking a new rheumatologist to evaluate and guide us as I deal with Lupus in my future. I am no longer complacent with living a "normal life span" as the disease and the medication continual destroy my quality of life. I want to explore the knowledge other physicians have for my best care. I am also pondering the notion of mammography, my first love. I hestitantly proposed the purchase of a mammography unit to my employer and now he is investigating every option. There is no doubt I am being carried by a cloud of exhilaration but I want to be grounded in my decision. Regardless of the outcome I welcome the fresh opportunties.

We have the best family and friends and I appreciate all the love whether it comes from next door or across the country. I love you all.
